IXXAT is a leading supplier of hardware and software products as well as services for the data communication in industrial and mobile systems.

For the area of industrial data com- munication we offer products and ser- vices for CAN (CANopen®, DeviceNet) and Real-Time Industrial Ethernet (PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, POWERLINK, EtherCAT, SERCOS III and others).

For usage of Controller Area Network, FlexRay and LIN in automotive and other mobile systems we offer development services, protocol software (CAN diagnosis protocols, SAE J1939) as well as analysis and test tools.

Our product range includes PC interface boards for all common interface stan- dards (e.g. USB, PCI, Ethernet), topology components (CAN bridge and repeater) and modules for the device connection. Furthermore we offer protocol software and tools for analysis, configuration and test for all data communication standards supported by IXXAT. We support our customers at the conceptual design and development of their data communication solutions with hardware and software develop- ment services as well as training.

Industrial Ethernet Module

With the  "Industrial Ethernet Module" from IXXAT devices can quickly and cost-efficiently be adapted to various Industrial Ethernet technologies. Supported protocols are EtherCAT, PROFINET, POWERLINK, SERCOS III, EtherNet/IP and Modbus-TCP.

The module is based on an FPGA from Altera and besides an integrated 32-bit CPU and an Ethernet Controller it comprises also the PHYs and the RJ45 jacks. Using the included programming interface to the Host-CPU the customer can connect his device easily using SPI or a standardized µC-Interface. The Host-API encapsulates the functions of the real-time industrial Ethernet protocol running on the module thus the application can be developed independent of the underlying network.

openSAFETY Software Download

The POWERLINK openSAFETY protocol software, an implementation of the POWERLINK safety specification for the development of safety nodes (SN) and safety configuration managers (SCM), is provided free of charge by B&R under a BSD license and can be downloaded from the IXXAT webpage using the following linked download page.

Currently the openSAFETY software is only available with a manual in German language, so it is offered on the German webpage. The download with an English manual will be offered on the English webpage soon.

CANobserver

Diagnostic tool for the long-term monitoring of CAN bus systems - The new CANobserver enables the physical and logical long-term monitoring of CAN, CANopen and DeviceNet systems. For this, the device is permanently integrated into the network and continuously monitors the data transfer and records the errors.
Sporadic negative impacts or a slowly deteriorating signal quality can be detected by the physical layer diagnosis and logical frame monitoring in a timely manner. Thus, the CANobserver is able to inform the system operator before any communication error occurs.
